I’m kicking around the idea of surprising my wife with Adele tickets for tomorrow night, but they are really expensive! I once drank too much scotch and slept through a rolling stones concert to the tune of $600 but I didn’t buy that ticket.
I think the most that I have ever spent personally on a concert is $150, but that was for a whole day festival and both Wu-Tang, and Rage Against The Machine were there so it could have been double that and I still would have gone.
So how much have you spent/are you willing to spend on concert tickets?
A Miata enjoying Duran Duran, for your time.

I’m too old to go to the concerts for acts I like anymore, but AFAIK in the past the max I’ve paid was I think $50. I can see paying $100 or so depending on seats (if applicable) and how much of it is venue and Ticketbastard fees.

My mom (72) texted us and said she wanted to go se Adele when she came to town.
Both nights sold out in less than an hour while I was at work stuck behind a firewall and were now selling for $2-400 each.
Sorry Mom.

Yea, there are seats that are behind the main stage for $300 a piece!

$20. I’m a cheap bastard.
It’s probably why the only concerts I go to are local and no-name bands. That is, when I go. Which is almost never.
Really, my hearing is bad enough already so it’s for the best.

It depends on the venue and the band. The more incidentals I need to get to the concert the less I want to pay for the tickets. $60 is generally my top of the range.

€16-€30 for underground rap acts.

I can’t recall ever going to a concert I paid for tickets for, but I fancy myself a <$100 man.

I paid $700ish years ago to take a girlfriend to lady gaga and do the VIP thing. We broke up before the concert. Went with a girl, who was a friend. Didn’t even get a handy j in the parking lot to say thanks. much disappointment

That is rough man. So did you meet Lady Gaga or was it not that type of VIP pass?

For someone I really really like, $100 max, for someone I think it would be fun to see, $40-$50.

I’ve never paid more than $30 for a concert ticket, and that was to see Madball, which was probably a lot more fun than falling asleep in some arena.

The most I’ve ever paid for a concert ticket was about $40/each for covered seats for some hair-metal triple billed ticket (maybe Poison/Def Leppard/ some other band big in the 80s) back in 2010 or so. My girlfriend at the time insisted on going.
However, I’m a cheap bastid who worked security at a concert venue for a decade though, so I saw a lot of up-and-comers for free. I once worked a Tyga show where about a dozen people showed up.
I also saw Gym Class Heroes go from ~100 tickets to sold out (1200 or s0) in a few hours after they were on TRL back in 2005 or 06...
Many, many GWAR shows where I went home stained blue, red, purple, and green...
I don’t like the fact that the artist usually only gets about 25-30% of ticket sales. The venue gets very little - about 10% if they’re a small indie venue and promoters/labels generally take the rest.
That’s why drinks tend to be expensive and bands are so dependent on merch sales.

...probably woulda been a rough parking lot experience anyway.
And nah, just came with some free stuff, drinks, preparty access, and close seats. It put us with a bunch of middle class average folk who weren’t cross dressing and enjoyed a nice sit during the concert. Which is how I concert, the average way.

Adele is awesome. No shame in my Adele fandom.
I tried to get tickets via my phone and my work computer the second they went on sale and they all sold out. Then, they were immediately on StubHub and the likes for 2-3x what they originally cost. Annoying.

I like Adele but not $300+ for a ticket like Adele. I think I’m going to let the E46 decide. I have to call in a few minutes and find out what it’s going to cost to fix. If it’s major, no concert. If I dodged a bullet, maybe we go.

I’ve been to too many performances to pick a favorite, but most of my top ten were at bars or small venues and less than $30. I look at the bigger venues as more of a party than a concert...go with a bunch of people, get silly drunk, maybe hear some music. Definitely don’t drink a bunch of scotch though.

A month or two ago I dropped over $200 for backstage passes to see Opeth & The Sword. Concert is Friday night at 7, and my wife just informed we have a wedding to go to the next day at 10:30 AM, but it’s 5 hours away. I still think I’m young enough to pull this off. We shall see how it goes.
Otherwise I usually go to cheap metal shows, usually to the tune of $40 or less. I have seen Opeth in NYC twice, for Evolution XX and XXV, and I think those tickets were about $100 each.
I also bought my wife tickets to see Billy Joel a few years ago at Nats Park and they were $150 each.

I actually just spent $500 on four Hall and Oates tickets last night. The concert is in November though. At least I got great seats for $125 a ticket.

I paid $350 to see Macca play last May(?).

Haha you can swing both! Friends of mine scored all access passes to Snoop Dogg because of a class action suit against Ticketmaster. They got to meet and share a blunt with Snoop!

Most I’ve ever paid was $500, and that was from a ticket agency back in 1999 for Bruce Springsteen. Yeah, it was expensive, but it was the first time he was back with the E. Street band in 11 years, and it was the only show he did that tour at the Spectrum, which was much superior in acoustics to the FU Center next door. Since Bruce puts on insanely long concerts, it was absolutely worth the price.
Since then I haven't paid as much for a concert ticket, or even close to it. I have paid more than that for NFL tickets though.

I almost paid $100 for Beach House tickets but couldn’t go due to school. I wasn’t too happy not being able to see my favorite band. I’ve only paid $40 for standup tickets and zero on late show with colbert tickets (I got front row seats!).

I cannot imagine spending over a hundred dollars on tickets that aren’t for a multi-day festival. Spending hundreds to stand in the bleacher seats at a stadium? Get right the fuck out. That kind of thing is worth, like, 80 at most.
But then again, I base my music-goings on experience more than any one particular artist. I also am always willing to spend way more on my girlfriend than on myself. So if you think the enjoyment your wife will get will be worth the money spent, that’s a no-brainer. You love her, make her as happy as you can and you’ll get it back ten times over.

$125 for NIN was the most so far (x2, +driving to Vegas, +hotel room, +everything involved in a weekend in Vegas = very expensive).
There are probably only 2 other bands I would pay that much or more for. But I did just get VIP tickets for The Naked And Famous which clocked in at just over $100.
I’m normally pretty cheap with shows ($30-$50 range, but when the right band comes up, I’ll drop some money. Now if Curve were to reform? I don’t even know what my limit would be).
